126. Adele – Hometown Glory

Jak wyczytałem, właśnie Hometown Glory było pierwszą piosenką napisaną przez Adele (właśc. Adele Laurie Blue Adkins). Miała wtedy 16 lat. Jak na szesnastolatkę tekst jest moim zdaniem bardzo dobry. Cały utwór ma tonację mollową: nastrój przygnębienia pasuje do wieku dojrzewania.  

Miastem, który opisuje Adele, jest prawdopodobnie Londyn, a dokładnie jego północna dzielnica Tottenham: tam urodziła się Adele.

Bardzo ładne jest onomatopeiczne zestawienie „short skirts, shorts and shades” /ʃɔ:t skɜ:ts ʃɔ:ts ənd ʃeɪdz/.
